I HAVE to celebrate with you! Yesterday’s AM reading was 104; but…today’s was 101. What does this mean? 101 is, well, NOT a diabetic number. In order to be diagnosed with diabetes, you need two AM readings in a row between 106 & 125. Even a single reading at or over 126 is almost enough, but all readings should be confirmed. Well, a single reading over 160 is sufficient and demands instant action. Still, the pattern is where we find the truth, of course.
Do remember, my diagnosis resulted from a reading of 479 – I was near comatose – and my Endocrinologist tells me that I am the very worst, very most severe Type II onset she has ever witnessed.
When your AM reading ranges from, say, about 75 at the lowest, on up to 105, you’re simply in the normal range! So yes, it does appear to have been the sugar-free Jell-O. Like I said, though, I’ll let you know if the numbers end up supporting the current hypothesis.
And that brings me back to CELEBRATION, JUBILATION!
The easiest prediction is that your journal will focus, naturally, on problems and unsolved challenges. You’ll start noticing all the basics you forget, or just fail to do. You’ll think about the better calls you’ve succeeded at in the past and wonder why your work today seems to miss. You’ll upbraid and attack yourself. This is all natural, and very, very important. But…
But, you MUST celebrate your victories! Your journal’s function is to help you improve. If you never notice or remark that you are improving, you’ll end up defeating your purpose. So,
Join me and dance to the music of 101. That, I repeat, is NOT a diabetic number! I’m not cured…but more on that tomorrow.
