Your Daily Recruiting Journal, Part 36 of a Continuing Series

Well, the too-much alcohol theory is now disproven…hurray! I drank no alcohol Thursday, Friday or Saturday, and still had significantly high AM sugar counts each day. Then, yesterday, Sunday, I enjoyed a wonderful Cotes des Rhone red wine with my steak at dinner and yes, a fabulous Tanqueray and Martini & Rossi, three olive, 4 oz. dirty martini (totaling roughly 332 calories, with no fat, carbs or protein) and…wait for it…near perfect blood sugar this morning! (I make a mean martini, I do! Oh, the Santa Barbara olives are an important element I forgot to mention or add to the calorie count – they have basically only fat in them.)

So what’s the current theory? I think it was the sugar-free Jell-O. I’d been enjoying a single plastic cup of Jell-O at night and now suspect it has something in it that raises blood sugar. Instead, last night I had a Pure Protein™ shake (160 calories, 1 g of fat, 2 g of carbs, 35 g protein) and voila, perfect numbers this morning! Well, I have to share that my sword work – which is my current main form of exercising, having recently replaced hours and hours of walking – has shown some extraordinary progress of late, too. I’ll let you know if these elements bear out over time.

So let me ask you, now. What’s your current challenge? And, what’s your current theory? I’ll brag since I made such a fantastic test and progress since last Thursday! Use me as your role model. Always have a current challenge. Always have a theory you concoct and then always be testing your current theory to prove or disprove it. If you simply look at your data, build a concept and test it, you’ll be there.

What do you say?
